What is the best way to convert CDN$ to USD$?

-I'm going to the States for 2 weeks. Should I open a USD$ bank account? Should I carry everything in cash? Traveller's cheques?

Is it safe to use my Canadian credit card in the USA? Any advice would be much appreciated. :) Thanks!I you are going to just 2 weeks,, I would take a small amount of USD cash which you can exchange at your bank and use your credit cards. I have never had a problem using Canadian Credit cards in the states. A USD back account would be useful if you wanted to save some money for the trip, but Canadian USD account can not usually be accessed in the states with your debit card. Probably go with cash. Most establishments will tell you what credit cards they accept but definitely not Canadian cards.
